Ken Kaisch

DR. KEN KAISCH is an ordained Episcopal priest and clinical psychologist. He served as a parish priest in the Diocese of Utah for nine years and then went to Utah State University for graduate degrees in clinical psychology. His Master’s thesis forms the basis for his current book, Inside the Invisible: The Universal Path to Spiritual Transcendence, which is scheduled for release in August of 2024. 

In 1986, he began working with psychologist Dr. Ronald Wong Jue, then president of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology. Together, they created Harmonia Mundi, a major conference bringing together psychologists and religious leaders. As part of this effort, Dr. Kaisch chaired the Contemplative Congress, gathering contemplative teachers from Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to teach their distinctive forms of meditation. The Dalai Lama was the keynote speaker for that gathering – the year he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. 

Concerned that the Church does not teach her followers how to connect with the Divine, Kaisch founded OneHeart in 1986, an ecumenical group teaching Christian contemplative practices. OneHeart grew to encompass twelve chapters meeting weekly throughout the Southern California region. In the 1990s, OneHeart held three international conferences on Christian meditative practices, with Bishop Kallistos Ware keynoting the final conference. 

Retiring from clinical practice in 2024, Dr. Kaisch moved with his wife Susan to a small agricultural town on the Central Coast of California. He uses this period in his life to write and help others move into a felt connection with the Divine. He loves playing jazz and blues guitar, gardening, and playing with Maggie the Wonder Dog.
